Let's talk about something different today.
First of all, I shall make a simple introduction regarding to my current job. I'm an executive secretary of Malaysia Entrepreneurs' Development Association. This is a non-profit organization which encourages joint ventures among the young entrepreneurs of all races and to identify opportunities. We aim to facilitate the establishment of strategic alliances and networks among entrepreneurs and executives.
My job is to play the role of supporting all the entrepreneurs during the operations and events. I find it very challenging as I need to deal with different peoples who have different traits of their own. This is not the important thing regarding to my job, but what I've encountered today.
Our association has organized an event 'A Date with Master' a few times in the past 6 months. One of the speaker who named Dr. Jimmy Lim, the CEO of Takasima has purchased 500 booklets of his own biography printed by us, and from the profit our association decided to make a donation of RM 2,500 to SJK (C) Aik Hua as charity.
I received a call from my chairman Mr. Tan Lay Seong in the morning and quickly search for the location of the school as I actually did not expect he would bring me together. War began as I suddenly had lots of things to prepare in 10 minutes!! (my chairman expects we work with light speed, hahahha!!)
We drove all the way from Bayan Lepas to town and both of us scratched our heads when we came to the small lane. Ish. Waze doesn't show the right way once in a while! Luckily he did not scold me. So we just turned here and there, left and right, and finally we found the school.
Today, I saw another version of chairman. The first time he jokes, telling something surprising me, and smiled wide in the photo. (This is not important as well)
Finally, we met the headmistress. Chairman & vice chairman started to interview the headmistress. Here comes the most important part of today.
SJK (C) Aik Hua is a special primary school for those kids who are not be able to take good care of themselves as most of them are having Down's Syndrome, depression, hyperactive and some of them can't even speak a phrase. They get pissed easily and hurt themselves, or hurt their parents either.
All the teachers in this school are really great teachers as the patience they gotta pay to the kids are doubled up. There's not many people willing to help them. Some of their parents just left them behind when they noticed their children is not behaving like how the normal kids use to be.
But you know, they know things and understand what we are talking about. They couldn't speak but they hug and kiss the headmistress. According to the headmistress, the teachers tried their best to educate the kids with their special education program, especially in the aspect of respectation and discipline. Somehow, kids came back with all nonsense attitudes on the next day.
They realized the parents were not co-operative with the school. They did not educate their kids about respectation and just let them do whatever they like. Sooner or later, they don't even look their parents in their eyes. Social issue probably raised from these. Parents might not think that is a big issue if kids are being disobedient when they are young. But, what about 20, 30, 40 or 50 years later? Who can forsee the consequences?
I was thinking what kind of life they live in the future if they are not well educated at the young stage. I mean in terms of discipline and humanity.
The conversations made me feel like crying just now as I recall how my parents educated me when I was a kid. My dad is a very kind person, I mean he is kind to everyone and don't take advantage of the others and stupidity honest. He didn't bother much about me actually but he hates kids being calculative at this young age, this is not how a kid should behave he told me.
My mom is the main player of moulding me actually. She caned me when I fight against her orally. Mom used to sit behind me when I had my handwriting practice during kindergarten period. There were numerous knocks on my head when she saw messy writing and re-writing came next. I never missed out greeting the relatives when there's family gathering.
She told me all her stories during her childhood, and that's what made me feel that I'm really lucky enough to born in this century. We are having all good foods, cozy bed & pillows, sophisticated devices and convenience transports. What the hell you are not satisfy with your life? I don't mean to discourage people chasing after their dreams or what they wants, but appreciate what we have.
I'm not from a rich family, but I'm super proud to have my parents given a strict childhood to me. They taught me how to think and analyse instead of throwing me tons of theories only.
For those parents who ever abandoned your kids, probabaly you had a very hard time at the moment, but that's not what you should do!!
Don't ever try to create a life when you just feel like having some fun. That's a living creature which might live in this world for few decades or even a century!!
This simply my personal thought, no one force you to agree.
I did not regret to visit the school.
Love life, live life.
